Polyethylene and vinyl films are gaining wide acceptance as linings for irrigation canals and reservoirs, because they control seepage effectively and are low in cost. Among the prospective applications of these plastic films, low‐cost storage would seem to be the most promising. This article discusses the properties of these films, as well as the principles of their construction and examples of their use for water storage.
