After almost 2 years of consideration, the AWWA Meter Committee has not yet completed the work of revising the present AWWA standard for positive‐displacement meters. At its meeting on May 16, 1960, the committee discussed several minor, and one or two major, items which will need further consideration, including the following: materials used in fabricating basic component parts; the diversity of meter registers, particularly the round‐reading type; issues with the meter accuracy requirements; and, issues with meter friction losses.
