This article discusses a project by the Corbalis Water Treatment Plant, Fairfax County, Virginia to improve its chemical storage and feed system by: increasing chemical feed for 225‐mgd plant capacity; simplifying system operation; maximizing on‐site chemical storage; increasing chemical system automation; and, enhancing reliability and redundancy. The article discusses the replacement of the gaseous chlorine disinfection system at Corbalis WTP with a new sodium hypochlorite storage and feed system.
