This article discusses four safety practices that have fostered a culture of team spirit at the DeFuniak Springs, Florida, water and wastewater utility, including: the term “safety team” includes everyone at the utility; regularly rewarding individual performance; safety is everyone's responsibility; and, constant communication on daily tasks for each person, and weekly staff meeting safety topics.
