This month's question concerns the cost‐effectiveness of a small water system buying its own camera/video system and related equipment to locate pipeline problems, or hiring a service contractor to do it as needed. The article discusses this kind of technology and indicates that today's small and effective camera systems make this field tool affordable and worthwhile for a small system to own. Types of cameras and their uses are discussed.
