The Beckman Bucket is a large bucket with a mesh layer and open base that captures the “cornflakes” (dried layers of lime inside the hoses that deliver lime slurry to the softening basins) and pigs while the water passes through. It is placed close to a drain with the slurry lime inserted into the bucket through the lid. The screen retains the cornflakes and pigs and the water drains out the base of the bucket. The captured cornflakes can be easily disgarded, the pigs reused, and the bucket rinsed clean for future use. Drains remain free of debris.
