This question of the month concerns using hydrogen peroxide to disinfect water storage tanks where positive total coliform test results were found in the distribution system without having to take the tank out of service. Citing the Total Coliform Rule, the answer states that the proper procedures for disinfection of the storage tank require that it be taken out of service and drained.
