Liability for property and personal injury is a concern for utilities. One concern is the potential for personal injury when a drop‐in lid is dislodged. Many standard drop‐in lids pop out when a vehicle drives over them. The lids sometimes bounce under the vehicle and damage the vehicle's undercarriage. The Extended Valve Box Lid replaces the standard drop‐in lid and is installed and removed the same as a standard lid. However, the extension on the Extended Valve Box Lid acts as an anchor to help hold the lid in place.
