This article describes an automatic sampler. The sampler was invented to save money and personnel in taking monthly, six‐hour composite total dissolved solids (TDS) samples at two locations. The sampling used to require two people and a vehicle to drive 10 miles (20 km) back and forth during the entire six hours. Materials, costs, and construction are discussed.
