Our utility installed sampling hydrants in a wellfield located in a fairly remote area. The wellfield was frequently vandalized. Fearing that the newly installed hydrants would be damaged beyond repair, we encased the sampling hydrant with a piece of ductile‐iron pipe to provide protection.
