In past years the City of Hutchinson, Kansas, Water Department used a chlorine system that required two injectors at each well site. Because of a change in state regulations, chlorine injection into a well is prohibited (except in emergencies). Instead, injection must be made into the main located outside of the well house. The change in regulations prompted water department employees to design a series of valves that would enable chlorine injection to be accomplished through a one‐injector system.
