After years of debate, the US Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) released new regulations on confined‐space entry. The new regulations were published in the January 14, 1993, Federal Register and officially became enforceable on April 14, 1993. The new federal regulations have much in common with the proposed standard, which has been used during the past two or three years. They also contain a number of significant changes and enhancements.
