The number of overfeed incidents reported are relatively few. The accident rate based on reported data is less than one event in 1000 systems over 16 years. Nevertheless, the possibility of overfeed, though remote, does exist. Careful attention to the operation and maintenance of fluoride‐feeding systems is crucial to preventing overfeed. This article includes a table listing a summary of reported fluoride overfeed incidents in public water systems.
