The author suggests that on‐the‐job safety programs should address off‐the‐job safety issues. The author believes that employees who are careful at home will carry that attitude to their jobs. While the article does not address specific safety issues, it presents reasons for emphasizing off‐the‐job safety and how to present the concept to employees.
