Pulsating clarifiers were added to the Grand Forks, North Dakota, water treatment plant during recent expansion. The construction of these clarifiers included the installation of twenty‐seven blowoff valves, which are designed to fail open with the loss of air pressure. This compact, crank‐type handle fits in tights spots and closes valves more quickly than a wheel handle.
