This article gives a history of the systems used to apply copper sulfate to the Tomhannock Reservoir in Troy, N.Y. The various systems used have ranged from rowboats with punctured metal dissolver pails and wooden barrels attached, to motorized wooden scows. After two years of experimentation a new method has been adopted. The entire system is composed of 1 1/2 in. rubber hose, rigid plastic pipe, and plastic fittings. The operation of the system is described as well as problems encountered and results achieved.
