This month's “Gimmicks and Gadgets” describes an extendable valve key. The extendable valve key is 6 feet long and will extend to 10 feet. The device consists of two square steel tubes. The inside tube measures 1 inch and the outside tube measures 1 1/4 inches. The handle is a 3/4 inch galvanized pipe with motorcycle grips. At the end of the key are two Allen head bolts to lock the tube at the required length after proper adjustment. A light at the end of the key enables the operator to see down to the valve and check if the valve is off‐center or if there is an obstruction.
