The US Environmental Protection Agency promulgated, on August 27, 1980, several modifications to the National Interim Primary Drinking Water Regulations. The major changes that impact AWWA members are the sodium and corrosion monitoring requirements, which become effective in February 1982, and the changes to the public notification regulations.
