The city of Aurora, Colorado plans to use alternative energy sources in future water‐facilities projects. A Trombe wall, which uses indirect solar gain, will be built into the administrative and laboratory areas of a new water treatment plant, and a greenhouse will heat the lobby, reception area, and control room. Other forms of alternative energy under consideration include low‐head hydroelectric power and wind power.
