The following is the second part of a two‐part article on how a utility can try new things and cut costs of operations. Part I ( OpFlow, Oct. 1980 ) featured the effects of the 12‐hr shift and installing tube settlers in the Westminster (CO) Semper Water Treatment Plant. Part II (conclusion) presented here, features the solar‐assisted heating system on the sedimentation basins at Semper.
