The city of Bellevue, Washington uses a pumper connection cap attached to a pipe welded to the bumper of a standard pickup truck to facilitate hydrant flushing. When flushing mains, a standard fire hose is attached to the fire hydrant and to the bumper nozzle. The truck is positioned over a manhole and the water is discharged without flooding or danger to anyone holding the hose.
