The ultrastructure of the anaphase of the second meiotic division of the meiocyte of Onoclea sensibilis is characterized by a compact plate of mitochondria without the usual double limiting membrane and with single‐layered cristae continuous from one side of the mitochondrion to the other. Amyloplasts occur proximal to the plate and lipid droplets are randomly distributed throughout the cell.
