Radiosphaera negevensis n. sp. f. negevensis and f. minor f.n. were isolated in culture from a surface growth of algae on desert soil and subsequently found in other desertic habitats. The characteristics which distinguish between the genera Radiosphaera and Actinochloris are discussed.
