Three thirteen year old boys presented with overlapping symptoms in the area of obsessionality, fears and compulsive behaviour. Therapy took the form of individual work with each boy, regular consultations with the mothers (and occasional consultations with fathers) and theoretically eclectic interventions tailored to the needs of each. Additionally, the boys and parents were linked into a network by a private “newsletter”. The newsletter proved to amplify the effect of progress by each client, and acted as a catalyst to the others. Newsletter material deliberately employed some psychodynamic formulations alongside systemic ones.
