Egg size and duration of embryonic development in Crustacea

The duration of embryonic development is inversely correlated with egg size in Crustacea. Development is faster in amphipods and mysids than in decapods, isopods and cumaceans of the same size. The relationships are of considerable significance in the ecology of these animals.
