Weight determinations have been made by standard methods, for the species of the common, littoral macrofauna of the Tvärminne area, S Finland. Equations are provided, for species or higher taxa, for the prediction of dry weight from wet weight, and of ash‐free dry weight from dry weight, applying the ratio model, the linear model and the curvilinear model. Factors affecting the weight estimates, including preservation in formalin, and some factors affecting the interrelationships of the weights have been discussed.
