ABSTRACT Flood frequency analysis for six catchments in Pakistan is carried out. The gamma (G2) and generalized logistic (GLO) distributions are fitted. Based on goodness of fit tests, it is found that these distributions fit closely to the annual maximum peak flows except for Rasul and Trimmu. The quantile estimates based on GLO distribution are close to the observed values of annual maximum peak flows. A peak over threshold series model using GLO is also implemented for Rasul and Trimmu.
