We introduce the t ‐norm and discuss the representation of this operator by additive generators. An approach is suggested for including importances in t ‐norm aggregation taking advantage of this representation of the t ‐norm. We look at formulations resulting for a variety of t ‐norms. We then apply the approach to the t ‐conorm and look at its effect on a variety of t ‐conorms. Finally, we turn to the uninorm and suggest an analogous method for including weighting in uninorm aggregations. © 2004 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.
