The incorporation of tungsten oxides on the surface of the oxidized aluminum alloy was investigated. Deposition was carried out in two ways – during the process of plasma‐electrolytic oxidation (PEO) and by impregnation of the oxide in solutions of tungsten salts. The experimental program was performed using a central composite rotatable planning. It is established that the amount of tungsten oxides in coatings obtained by PEO in mixed silicate‐tungstate electrolyte is 50 times higher than in coatings received by PEO in silicate electrolyte with following soaking in WO 4 2− containing solutions.
