The 2012 Wolf Prize in chemistry was awarded to Professor A. Paul Alivisatos and Professor Charles M. Lieber (shown on the cover, left and right, respectively). This special issue on Nanochemistry honors the awarding of the Wolf Prize to these two innovators in the field, and includes 15 excellent contributions from many authors who have been inspired by their work and mentorship.
