A multi‐arched bridge over the River Dordogne provides a fitting backdrop for sequential McMurry reactions leading to a pyrenophanediene. The direct synthesis of cyclophane bridges using olefination reactions, such as the McMurry reaction, is the subject of Bodwell and Nandalurus Review in this issue. A relatively small set of olefination reactions have been used for this purpose, but they have been used to synthesize a diverse collection of cyclophanes with bridges that range in size from the 2‐atom 1,2‐ethenylene bridge to a whopping 22 atoms in length.
