The reactivity of unstable copper macrocycles which act as intermediates in photochemical transformations of copper(II) complexes with synthetic macrocyclic ligands has been reviewed. Although most of these species were investigated by flash photolysis, a number of pulse radiolytic investigations of related species were also incorporated in this review.
