Fluor‐carbonate‐apatites were prepared by a heterogeneous reaction from calcium carbonate, alkaline phosphate and fluoride and were doped with Zn 2+ ions. The thermal stability of the doped apatites was studied by measuring the fluoride content before and after heat‐treatment using a selective electrode. It was shown that the doped apatites are thermally more stable than the pure material. The degree of stability is dependent on the amount of doping.
