NSF (1) reacts with CF 3 CF=CF 2 in the presence of CsF to give the known sulfides (CF 3 ) 3 CF‐S‐S‐CF(CF 3 ) 2 ( 3 ) and (CF 3 ) 2 CF‐S‐CF(CF 3 ) 2 ( 4 ) and the linear thiazenes (CF 3 ) 2 C=N‐S‐CF(CF 3 ) 2 ( 5 ), (CF 3 ) 2 CF‐S‐N=S=N‐CF(CF 3 ) 2 ( 6 ), [(CF 3 ) 2 CF‐S‐N=] 2 S ( 7 ), and (CF 3 ) 2 CF‐S‐NSF 2 ( 8 ); (CF 3 ) 2 CF‐S‐NSO ( 9 ) results from the decomposition of ( 8 ) with glass. Yields of ( 3 )‐( 9 ) depend on the reaction conditons; an attempt is made to explain the formation of the products.
