The hitherto isolated and identified cembrane derivatives from alcyonarians of the Gulf of Elat (Red Sea) are briefly reviewed, including the thus far unreported isolation of nephtenol and 16‐deoxysarcophine from several soft‐corals. The structure of a new sinulariolide derivative, 11‐episinulariolide acetate, isolated together with 11‐dehydrosinulariolide, from two (out of seven tested) sinularia species is illustrated.
