The isolation of some stable platinum(II)‐σ‐allylic complexes is reported. The complexes, trans ‐Pt(σ‐all)X(PEt 3 ) 2 :(X = CI, all = allyl, crotyl; X = Br, all = allyl) are synthesized by the oxidative addition of allylic halide to Pt(PEt 3 ) 4 in hexane at room temperature. They were characterized by infrared, 1 H NMR and 13 C NMR spectroscopy.
