The increase in the rate of chemical reactions with vibrational excitation opens the possibility for selective photochemical processes and isotope enrichment. Recent measurements of chemical reaction rates for vibrationally excited molecules are discussed. A simple kinetic model is used to illustrate some limits on possible process parameters.
