A series of antimony(V) compounds containing bifunctional ligands has been prepared. These compounds are of the structure (C 6 H 5 ) 3 Sb (OOCR) 2 and (R = P − C 6 H 4 OH 5 o ‐C 6 X 4 COOMe and cis ‐CX=CX where X = H, Cl and Br). These are the first antimony(V) compounds which contain functional reactive end groups.
