2‐( p ‐Styryl)‐4‐carboxyquinoline (vinyl cincophen), its 6‐methyl and 6,7‐benzo derivatives, p ‐formylstyryl thiosemicarbazone, and p ‐vinyl‐DL‐threo‐β‐phenylserine were synthesized and polymerized.
