The cycloaddition of indene with N‐chlorosulphonyl isocyanate was performed at low temperature to generate the 7‐azabicyclo‐2,3‐benzo [3,2,0]‐hept‐2‐ene‐6‐one system. The structure of the cycloadduct was established by spectroscopic and chemical means.
