Synthesis is described of a series of peptide derivatives which corresponds to positions 85‐89 in the primary structure of horse heart Cytochrome C. The preparation of the partially protected pentapeptides: benzyloxycarbonyl‐L‐isoleucyl‐ϵ ‐trifluoroacetyl‐L‐lysyl‐ϵ ‐trifluoroacetyl‐L‐lysyl‐ϵ ‐trifluoroacetyl‐L‐lysyl‐L‐threonyl hydrazide trifluoroacetate and L‐isoleucyl‐ϵ ‐trifluoroacetyl‐L‐lysyl‐ ϵ ‐trifluoroacetyl‐L‐lysyl‐ϵ ‐trifluoroacetyl‐L‐lysyl‐L‐threonyl‐t‐butyloxycarbonyl hydrazide acetate is described.
