Line overlapping measurements are reported in the inversion doublets of far infrared rotational lines of ammonia gas, demonstrating the effect of cross‐relaxation. Values are obtained of linwidth parameters for the components and cross‐relaxation rates in several rotational lines broadened by nitrogen.
