Substituted phenoxaphosphines were obtained from di‐p‐tolyl ether and alkyl‐ or arylphosphonous dichlorides, and, by alkylation, followed by reduction, from either 2,8‐dimethylphenoxaphosphinyl chloride or 2,8‐dimethylphenoxaphosphine 10‐oxide. Some reactions of the new heterocyclic compounds are described.
