Hydrolysis of the waxy fraction of Huleh peat, esterification of the acid mixture and application of thin‐layer chromatography, gas chromatography, mass and infrared spectroscopy and catalytic hydrogenation techniques revealed the presence of a series of even‐ and odd‐numbered saturated acids and several unsaturated acids.
