Abstract The determination of exchange capacities of permselective membranes has been speeded up from 1–2 weeks to 1–2 days by use of electrodialytic methods for all exchange and washing processes. The total and the non‐quaternary capacities of anionic membranes are determined in a single operation. Capacities in general agree well with analytical data of the membranes.
