Michael reactions of gem ‐dinitroalkanes and nitroform have been carried out successfully with gem ‐dinitroalkyl acrylates, methacrylates and crotonates. Mononitroalkanes did not add normally to these acceptors under the conditions, under which the reactions described here took place.
