A heterometric study was made of the reaction between lead and thionalide. A method is presented for the determination of 1 mg Pb in 20 ml aqueous solution in which Mn, Fe, Co, Ni, Cr, Mg, Zn, Al, Cu, Cd, Ag and Hg may be present. The determination takes 10–14 minutes. In the presence of large excesses of Ca, Al, Mg, and Fe, a preliminary rapid separation is necessary. The error is about 1.5%.
