Bromoacetylene was synthesized from acetylene dibromide and molten, moist potassium hydroxide. It was copolymerized with vinyl acetate and styrene yielding, in the latter instance, products of composition[(C 6 H 5 CHCH 2 ) x (CHCBr)] n .
