The method provides for the determination of indium in uranium‐indium alloys in the concentration range 0.2 – 6 wt% of indium. Hydrochloric acid solutions of the sample are excited by the “copper spark” technique and the intensity ratios of the analytical lines: In I 4101.77A and U II 4090.14A are determined photometrically and related to the concentration of indium. The coefficient of variation of a single determination of indium concentration is about 10% in the concentration range 0.5–6 wt% of indium, and about 17% for lower concentrations. The limit of detection is 0.1 wt% of indium.
