Cancer, 125: 2077–2085. doi: 10.1002/ijc.24572 The above article, published online on 15 May 2009 in Wiley Online Library (wileyonlinelibrary.com), has been retracted by agreement between the journal Editor in Chief, Professor Christoph Plass, the Union for International Cancer Control and John Wiley & Sons, Ltd. The retraction has been agreed due to the manipulation of images within the article. The Editorial Office was contacted by a reader who expressed some concerns regarding the reuse of several bands in Figures 2a and 5a, which purportedly represent different experimental conditions. After requesting the original data files from the corresponding author, the editorial team confirmed that the western blots provided contained manipulated bands.
